Thunder roll past Windsor Athletics 9-0
The Tecumseh Thunder continued to roll as they won their fourth straight in the Can-Am League Friday night blanking the Windsor Athletics by the score of 9-0.

Tecumseh's Andrew Masojc had a big night going 5-for-5 at the plate. Tom Beale contributed with a season high four RBI going 2-for-4 with a double and triple. Bill Gillen also recorded two hits and drove in two runs while Dan McFarlane and Ken Price chipped in with one hit and one RBI each in the victory.

Ron Rousse picked up the victory throwing five innings of shutout ball while allowing just two hits. Jason Horvat pitched the final two innings allowing no hits.

The Athletics David Weber suffered the loss after allowing nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits with three strikeouts over five innings of work.

Brantford blanks Mississauga 2-0
The Brantford Red Sox defeated the Mississauga Twins by the score of 2-0 Friday night at home for their sixth straight victory.

Red Sox starter Mike Meyers recorded his first victory of the season after giving up just two hits over five innings of work with a game high nine strikeouts. Marc Andre Major would pitch the next three innings registering four strikeouts while not allowing a hit. Stefan Stecker would close out the game for his third save of the season.

Mississauga's Shane Cole was issued the loss going seven complete innings while allowing two runs on three hits with five strikeouts.

With two out in the bottom of the 5th, Brantford's Mike Bonanno hit a two-run single for the victory. Branson Joseph went 3-for-3 for Mississauga.


Maple Leafs roll past Hamilton 8-2
The Toronto Maple Leafs rolled past the Hamilton Thunderbirds by the score of 8-2 Friday night at Bernie Arbour Stadium in a game halted by lightning in the ninth inning.

Maple Leafs starter Drew Taylor pitched five strong innings allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with three strikeouts for his first win of the season.

Jordell Farquharson was the loser for the T-Birds. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and five walks.

The Leafs broke the game open with a four-run sixth inning, keyed by a three-run double by Dan Gibbons, and never looked back with a 13-hit attack. Raul Borjas added a two-run homerun and a single while Brian Ivan contributed with an RBI double. Damon Topolie and Jeremy Walker both added two hits for the Leafs.

The T-Birds Chris Piano added a solo homerun and a single and Darnell Duckett collected two hits and an RBI in the loss.
