Barrie blanks Fat Cats in doubleheader
The Barrie Baycats continued to roll as they defeated the Ottawa at Cats 6-0 and 2-0 in a Saturday afternoon doubleheader in the nation's capital. Barrie sits in first place in the IBL with a 13-3 overall record having won eight of their last nine games. The expansion Fat Cats have now dropped eight straight.

In Game One, the Baycats Brad Bissell improved to 3-0 on the season as he went six strong innings allowing just two hits with six strikeouts for the shutout victory. In his first appearance, Jas Shergill struck out two of the three batters he faced in the 7th.

Ottawa starter Matt Hummell lasted just three innings allowing five runs (2 earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts over three innings for the loss.

For Barrie Ryan Spataro and Stevie Lewis both went 2-for-3 in Game One. Jordan Lundberg and Matt Richardson also contributed with two hits each going 2-for-4.

In Game Two, Barrie starter Adam Hawes was impressive as he threw a complete game two hit shutout registering eight strikeouts for his first victory of the season.

Jordan Lundberg went 3-for-4 with an RBI finishing with five hits on the afternoon. Jonathan Baksh was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Fat Cats starter Matt McGovern suffered the loss after going 6 2/3 innings allowing two runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
