Late inning rally leads Niagara past Milton 4-3
The Niagara Metros scored a pair of runs in the top of the 8th inning as they defeated the Milton Red Sox by the score of 4-3 Saturday.

Milton's Devin Karlsen and Metros TJ Tavender went toe-to-toe against each other on the mound for most of seven innings. Karlsen held Niagara to two runs on four hits over seven innings while striking out two. Reliever Kevin Cooper was tagged with the loss, surrendering a pair of runs in the top of the 8th.

Leading the Metros was Geoff Strong who recorded three hits on the afternoon. Dan Proctor contributed with two hits highlighted by a solo homerun in the 4th.

For the Red Sox, Carlos D'Costa led the way with three hits. Rookie Lee Mathe' added two hits and a pair of RBI while Jon Roth also registered a pair of singles in the loss.

The Sox were retired in order in the bottom of the 9th by Niagara southpaw Dave Davidson, who fanned three straight to earn the save, his third of the season.

Thunder fall to Troy Jet Box 8-2
The Tecumseh Thunder had their four game win streak come to end Saturday as they dropped an 8-2 decision to Troy Jet Box.

The Jet Box had a 14-hit attack led by the duo of Ron Kochan who went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and Adwin Springer who was 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Both Kochan and Springer recorded a homerun and double each. Nick Smith contributed with two hits and two RBI while Drew Churchward also added two hits.

Troy starter Mike Borkowski went five strong innings giving up two runs (0 earned) on four hits with two walks and four K's for the victory.

The Thunder's Rob Blunck picked up the loss after going three innings allowing five runs (4 earned) on seven hits with four walks and one strikeout. Dan McFarlane pitched the final three innings allowing three runs on on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Ken Price went 2-for-3 for Tecumseh in the loss.

Lundberg walkoff homer leads Baycats over London 4-3 in 10 innings
The Barrie Baycats Jordan Lundberg belted a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 10th inning off London reliever Mike Delong as Barrie defeated the Majors 4-3 improving their overall record to 9-2 Saturday afternoon at Barrie Metals Stadium.

Barrie starter Brad Bissell went seven innings allowing three runs on seven hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in a no decision. Reliever Kyle Payne pitched two innings of shutout ball before Chris England got London out in order in the top of the 10th for his first victory of the season.

London's C. Bate went 6 1/3 innings giving up three runs on three hits with eight walks and five strikeouts in a no decision. Delong dropped to 0-2 on the season allowing one run on one hit with five strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings.

Maple Leafs defeat Mississauga 6-4
The Toronto Maple Leafs answered with three runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Mississauga Twins by the score of 6-4 Saturday at Meadowvale Field.

Leafs starter Jake Gallo pitched six innings allowing four runs (2 earned) on six hits with seven strikeouts in a no decision. Cody Powell retired six straight Mississauga players in the 8th and 9th innings for the victory.

Mississauga's Adam Kudryk went 5 2/3 innings allowing three runs (1 earned) on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Franco Pace was credited with the loss after allowing three runs on three hits in one inning of work.

Gamin Teague led the Toronto offense going 2-for-3 with three RBI which included a solo homerun in the 7th and a two-run single in the 9th. Kyle DeGrace also added a hit and drove in a run for the Leafs.

The Twins Branson Joseph went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Eitan Maoz belted his first homerun of the season.
