Ottawa rolls past Maple Leafs in doubleheader sweep
The Ottawa Fat Cats improved to 4-4 on the season as they swept a doubleheader at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs winning by scores of 20-1 and 5-3 in front of 3,602 in attendance at Ottawa Stadium on Victoria Day Monday.

In game one, the Ottawa Fat Cats had their largest offensive output of the season as they rolled past the Maple Leafs by the score of 20-1.

Joe Stone paced the Ottawa attack with four hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in a season high five RBI. Denten Neill had three hits, scored four runs and drove in four more for a league leading 14 RBI. Kyle Barclay contributed with two hits and three RBI while Cody Mombuquette added three hits and drove in two more.

Former Leaf standout Dave Steffler picked up his first victory of the season going 5 2/3 innings while allowing one run on six hits.

In game two, Ottawa scored three runs on just two hits in the third inning and made that stand up for a 5-3 win.

Monbuquette had two hits and drove in a run in the second game for the Fat Cats, while Marshall MacDonald also recorded two hits and scored a run.

Ottawa starter David Barnes went 4 1/3 innings while allowing two runs on four hits with two strikeouts. David Desclouds got credit for the win, allowing one run on two hits over 1 2/3 innings. Josh Soffer got the final two outs in the seventh for the save.

Toronto's Kern Watts had two hits and drove in a run while Jared Ivan also had a pair of hits.
