Brantford blanks Thunderbirds 10-0
The Brantford Red Sox scored six runs in the top of the 1st on route to 10-0 victory over the Hamilton Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon.

Josh McCurdy led the Red Sox 13-hit attack going 3-for-5 with a double, homerun, three runs scored and an RBI. Wayne Forman went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI while Bryon Bell contributed with two hits and two RBI. Tyler Burnell also registered two hits in the victory.

Brantford's Steve Murray went five complete innings allowing four hits with three strikeouts for his first victory of the season. Stefan Strecker closed out the final two innings not allowing a hit while recording three K's.

Hamilton starter Mike Fortuna was credited with the loss as he got roughed up in his second straight start allowing six runs on six hits over two innings. Colin Zwiebel went 2-for-2 on the afternoon to lead the T-Birds.

Panthers rally to defeat Ottawa 10-9
The Kitchener Panthers answered with three runs in the bottom of the 9th as they defeated the expansion Ottawa Fat Cats by the score of 10-9 at Jack Couch Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Kitchener led 7-2 going into the 8th, before Ottawa scored seven runs over the next two innings including five in the top of the 9th to take a 9-7 lead. The Fat Cats went to Josh Soffer in the ninth who suffered the loss after allowing three runs on three hits.

The Panthers Brandon Farquhar went seven complete innings allowing two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in a no decision. Picking up the victory was Derek Sinko despite giving up five runs on five hits in the ninth.

Kitchener had four players with multiple hit performances led by Kevin Childs who went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Luke Baker, Mat Taube and Justin Gianfrancesco all chipped in with two hits each. Ben Kangas also drove in two runs in the victory.

Ottawa's Denton Neill led his team going 2-for-5 with a season high five RBI including a grand slam in the top of the ninth which gave Ottawa the lead.

Maple Leafs down Mississauga 8-3
The Toronto Maple Leafs scored all eight runs in the first fours innings including five in the fifth as they defeated the Mississauga Twins by the score of 8-3 Saturday afternoon.

Marek Deska went seven innings allowing three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts for his first victory of the season.

Brian Ivan (2-for-3) and Raul Borjas (2-for-5) led the Toronto offense with two hits each while Rob Gillis contributed with a two-run homerun and Drew Taylor drove in two runs.

For Mississauga, Carlos Garcia went 2-for-3 with his first two extra base hits of the season registering a double and a homerun.
