Thornhill Reds blank Martingrove 7-0
The Thornhill Reds used four arms that combined for a three-hit shutout Wednesday night at home, as they blanked Martingrove by the score of 7-0 to improve to 2-0 in the GTBL.

Former Oshawa Royals pitcher Gary Rose was impressive in his Reds debut, registering 10 strikeouts over five shutout innings for his first win of the season. Lenny Wood, Chris Berwick, and Harman Brar, held the White Sox in check for the final four, to secure the shutout.

Leading the Reds offense was Brian Macdonald who recorded two doubles. Josh Matlow, Travis Skelton and Ryan Stewart all chipped in with a pair of RBIs each.

Baycats down Royals in 11 innings 4-3
Matt Richardson scored on an error in the bottom of the 11th inning to lead the Barrie Baycats to a 4-3 victory over the Guelph Royals, giving them a sweep of their brief home and home series in the IBL Wednesday night.Barrie improved to 4-1 and remains in first place in the IBL while the hard luck Royals slipped to 1-4.

Kyle Payne earned the win for the Baycats, pitching 1 2/3 hitless innings after starter Chris Kemlo allowed just one run on four hits over eight innings.

Seven run first leads Brantford past Twins 15-4
In Brantford, the host Red Sox scored seven first inning runs and never looked back, routing the Mississauga Twins by the score of 15-4.

Josh McCurdy led the Red Sox attack with two doubles and three walks, while Lee Delfino contributed with a two-run homer. Jason Gotwalt also had two singles for the Sox, who had 10 hits in the game.

Brantford's Scott Robinson went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts improving his record to 2-0. Robert Ramsdale went the final four innings allowing one run on four hits with four K's.
