The No. 1 ranked Windsor Stars had their five game win streak come to an end Sunday as they split with the Windsor Athletics winning 10-0 in Game One and dropping Game Two by the score of 9-6.
In Game One, the Stars Jason Lauzon threw a complete game five inning shutout allowing two hits with two walks and six strikeouts for the victory.
Tom Grubb led the Stars offense once again going 2-for-3 with a game high four RBI. Dave Mastrodicasa (2-for-3) and Kris Klassen (2-for-4) both contributed with two hits each.
In Game Two, the Windsor Athletics came back from a 5-2 deficit answering with seven runs in the 6th inning as they handed the defending Ontario Champions their first loss of the season.
Lauzon suffered the loss allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits over just 1 1/3 innings.
Mastrodicasa went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Grubb, Klassen, Bryan Dufour and Jake Myers all added two hits each in the loss.
