Glanbrook downs Battlecats 6-1
The Glanbrook improved to 7-2 on the season as they defeated the Brampton Battlecats by the score of 6-1.

In his first start of the year, the Grizzlies Greg Swan was impressive throwing six innings of shutout ball allowing one hit with two strikeouts for the victory. Ang Amore threw the final three innings, allowing one unearned run on one hit and two strikeouts.

Lou Proietti had a fantastic defensive game at short for the Griz, and went 3-for-5 at the plate. Rob Spiak also added three hit going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Brampton’s Jainell Purohit was the losing pitcher going five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and five walks with four strikeouts.

Windsor Stars fall to Troy Jet Box 8-6
The Windsor Stars fell to 7-3 on the season as they dropped an 8-6 decision to Troy Jet Box.

The Stars Steve Carter suffered the loss after allowing seven runs (3 earned) on nine hits with four strikeouts over four innings. Jason Lauzon pitched the final two innings allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Leading the Windsor offense was Jake Myers who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Dan Hansen and Bryan Simone both collected two hits and one RBI each.

Majors down Hamilton 9-5
The London Majors defeated the Hamilton Thunderbirds by the score of 9-5 in Intercounty Baseball League action Friday night.

London starter Andy St. Gelais recorded his fifth victory of the season after going six innings allowing two runs on two hits with eight walks and a game high 12 strikeouts. The T-Birds Jordell Farquharson suffered the loss after giving up four runs on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts over four innings of work.

Leading the Majors was Allan Cattrysse and Cris Chambers who both collected two hits and drove in two runs each. Ryan Cattrysse and Ryan Lapensee also added two hits each in the victory.

Hamilton's Adam Cholewka went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Graeme Carey also drove in two runs in the loss.

Pogue leads Guelph over Red Sox 9-4
The Guelph Royals ended the Brantford Red Sox six game winning streak as defeated the defending IBL Champions by the score of 9-4 Friday night on the road.

Leading the Royals offense was Jamie Pogue who went 2-for-3 with a homerun, four RBI and three runs scored. Mark Allen went 2-for-3 with a double, thriple and three RBI while Brad Cochrane also registered two hits, including a double, while driving in two runs. Jeremy Ware, Chris Stewart, Sean Reilly and Bryan Condotta all contributed with two hits each in the victory.

For Brantford, Josh McCurdy and Lee Delfino both added two hits each while Jason Gotwalt went 1-for-2 with two RBI in the loss.

Guelph's Brett Lawson recorded the victory after going 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs on eight hits with four walks and five strikeouts. In relief, Mike Goemans would pitch the final 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball while striking our two.

Red Sox starter Scott Robinson dropped to 3-1 on the season after allowing five runs (2 earned) on 10 hits with one walk and one strikeout over five innings.
