The Thornhill Redbirds scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th en route to a 4-3 victory over the third place Markham Pioneers Tuesday night.

The Redbirds Shawn Scott pitched five strong innings allowing one run on four hits with three walks for his first win of 2010. Jeff Swartz closed out the 9th giving up one hit for the save.

Markham's Brad Binns took the loss allowing three runs (2 earned) on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts. His record falls to 3-3 on the season.

Peter Westlake and David Bernholtz both went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Redbirds.

Shane Moore made his return to the Pioneers lineup after three weeks away, going 3-for-5. Reg Sarne and Jesse Dynes both added two hits each in the loss.

Glanbrook rolls past Milton 8-3
The first place Glanbrook Grizzlies defeated the Milton Red Sox by the score of 8-3 Tuesday night at 9th Line Park improving their COMBL record to 10-3.

Glanbrook starter Justin Czorny recorded the victory going 6 1/3 innings allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits with five walks and five strikeouts. In just his second appearance of the season, Andrew Page was dominate striking out seven of the nine batters he faced to collect the save.

Offensively, the Grizzlies collected only six hits, however took full advantage of a tough sky and a few Milton miscues which led to six unearned runs. Kevin Walsh went 1-for-4 with a home run. Corrie Morrison, Tim Sogan, Jamie Kozak, Aberdeen Chan and Czorny all chipped in with a hit a piece.

For Milton, Jon Roth went 3-for-5 with a double and two singles in the loss.
