Brantford rolls past Baycats 10-4
The Brantford Red Sox captured their fifth straight victory as they rolled past the Barrie Baycats by the score of 10-4 at Barrie Metals Stadium Saturday night.

Bryon Bell led the Red Sox offense going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Wayne Forman also registered three hits while Josh McCurdy rounded out the Brantford leaders going 2-or-5 with two RBI.

Marc-Andre Major picked up the victory going 5 1/3 innings while allowing four runs on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Steve Murray, Les Williams and Stefan Strecker shutdown the Baycats in the final 3 1/3 innings not allowing a hit.

Adam Garner dropped to 1-1 on the season after allowing seven runs (4 earned) on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts over six innings of work.

Royals sweep Ottawa in doubleheader
The Guelph Royals took both ends of a doubleheader against the Ottawa Fat Cats winning by scores of 10-1 and 6-2 Saturday afternoon at David E. Hastings Stadium.

In Game One, Guelph scored seven runs in the third inning on route to a 10-1 victory. Frankie Hare led the Royals offense going 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Jeremy Ware recorded his first homerun of the season with a three-run blast while Sean Reilly chipped in with a double and two RBI.

Meleti Melehes went the distance for Guelph allowing one run on eight hits with four strikeouts for the victory. Ottawa starter Daniel Desclouds lasted just two innings where he allowed six runs (3 earned) on six hits for the loss.

In Game Two, Guelph made the most of their four hits total in a 6-2 victory.

The Royals Sean Reilly went 2-for-3 with a solo homerun and two runs scored. Frankie Hare contributed with one hit, one RBI and two runs scored.

Guelph starter Joey Ellison improved his record to 1-1 on the season after going five innings allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits. The Fat Cats Mike Lynch pitched all six innings allowing six runs on four hits for the loss.
